Why We Rebuilt the Visuable Website for the AI Search Era

Over the last few months, we've been working on one of the biggest website projects we've taken on in years.

This time, the client was us.

We recently migrated the Visuable website but alsoWhile the platform upgrade was an important step, it was only one part of a much bigger decision. We weren't redesigning our website because we wanted a fresh look. We rebuilt it because the way people discover businesses online has fundamentally changed.

Today, visibility is no longer determined solely by ranking for a handful of keywords on Google. Businesses now need to be understood across multiple search environments, including traditional search engines, AI-powered search tools like ChatGPT, and the growing number of platforms that help users discover brands through conversational search.

As a digital agency helping clients prepare for this shift, we knew our own website needed to reflect the future of search. So we approached the project exactly as we would for a client. We stepped back, audited every page, reviewed what was performing well, identified what had become outdated, and rebuilt the website around where search behaviour is heading next.

The result is a website designed not only to look beautiful, but to become a stronger foundation for long-term visibility, growth, and conversions.

Why Traditional Website Redesigns Are No Longer Enough

For many years, a website redesign focused primarily on aesthetics. Businesses would update colours, improve layouts, refresh imagery, and launch a modern-looking website. While design remains incredibly important, today's websites need to do much more.

A successful website now needs to:

  • Clearly communicate who you are and what you do.

  • Guide visitors through a logical customer journey.

  • Support SEO performance.

  • Help search engines understand your expertise.

  • Provide signals that AI-powered search tools can interpret.

  • Turn website traffic into meaningful enquiries.

In other words, visibility is no longer just about how your website looks. It's about how clearly your website communicates.

Our Goal: Build a Website Ready for the Future of Search

When planning the relaunch, we set ourselves a clear objective: Create a website that is easier to understand for people, Google, and AI-powered search tools. That required much more than updating visuals. It meant revisiting our messaging, website structure, content strategy, SEO foundations, and technical implementation.

Every decision was guided by a simple question:

"Will this make it easier for someone to understand who we are, what we do, and whether we're the right fit for them?"

If the answer was yes, it stayed. If not, it changed.

What Changed on the New Visuable Website?

A Clearer Customer Journey

One of the first areas we tackled was website navigation and user flow. As businesses evolve, websites often grow organically over time. New services are added, pages expand, and content accumulates. Eventually, even a well-designed website can become harder to navigate.

We restructured the entire website around a clearer customer journey, making it easier for visitors to:

The goal was simple: reduce confusion and increase clarity.

A Stronger Homepage Strategy

Your homepage is often your first opportunity to make an impression.

We completely reworked our homepage messaging and structure to better communicate:

  • Who we help.

  • What we specialise in.

  • Why our approach is different.

  • How visitors can move forward.

By refining our positioning and simplifying key messages, we created a homepage that guides users toward the services most relevant to their needs.

SEO-Focused Service Pages

We rebuilt our service pages from the ground up.

Each page now includes:

  • Clearer messaging.

  • Improved heading structure.

  • Better keyword alignment.

  • Stronger content architecture.

  • More strategic calls to action.

This creates a better experience for visitors while also providing stronger SEO foundations for long-term organic growth.

Dedicated Industry Pages

One of the most significant additions was the creation of dedicated industry pages.

Rather than speaking broadly to everyone, these pages allow us to communicate directly with the industries we work with most frequently.

This helps visitors quickly identify whether our experience aligns with their business and allows search engines to understand better the markets we serve.

Content Optimisation Across the Website

We also reviewed and re-optimised key website pages and blog articles. Our focus was on making expertise easier to find, easier to read, and easier to trust. This involved improving content quality, strengthening internal linking, refining page structure, and ensuring every piece of content contributes to the overall visibility of the website.

AI-Friendly Website Enhancements

Perhaps the most important update involved preparing the website for AI-powered search. As AI tools increasingly influence how users discover information, websites need to provide clearer signals about their expertise and authority.

To support this, we implemented:

  • Enhanced structured data.

  • Improved content hierarchy.

  • Better entity-based optimisation.

  • Clearer service and business information.

  • Stronger topical relevance across the site.

Put simply, we made it easier for AI systems to understand who we are and what we do.

The Early Results

While long-term SEO success takes time, the early results have been encouraging. Within six weeks of launching the new website on 6 May, we began seeing measurable improvements.

Increased Website Traffic

Website views increased from 10,595 to 13,269.

That's nearly 3,000 additional page views compared to the previous period.

More Enquiry Actions

More importantly, user engagement improved significantly.

Key enquiry actions increased from 491 to 693.

That's a 40% increase, representing more than 200 additional interactions with important conversion points across the website.

Growth in AI Visibility

We also saw a notable increase in visibility across AI-powered platforms.

ChatGPT mentions increased by 114.9%, reaching 159 monthly mentions.

Additionally, our website achieved a 100% AI search visibility score across content quality, authority, technical optimisation, and engagement metrics.

These are still early results, but they validate the strategy behind the project. The goal was never simply to create a more attractive website. The goal was to create a website that works harder for the business behind it.

What Other Businesses Can Learn From This

One of the biggest lessons from this project is that website performance isn't driven by design alone.

The most effective websites combine:

  • Strategic messaging.

  • Thoughtful user journeys.

  • Strong SEO foundations.

  • Technical optimisation.

  • Helpful content.

  • Clear conversion pathways.

When these elements work together, your website becomes more than a digital brochure.

It becomes a growth asset. A platform that helps people find you, understand you, trust you, and ultimately choose you.

The Future of Search Is About Clarity

When we launched Visuable more than 11 years ago, having a beautifully designed website was often enough to stand out. A strong visual presence could build credibility, attract attention, and help businesses make a lasting first impression.

Today, that's only the beginning.

Modern websites need to do far more than look good. They need to communicate clearly, perform well in search, support AI-powered discovery, and guide visitors towards meaningful action. A successful website now combines great design with strategic messaging, strong SEO foundations, and a user experience that makes it easy for people to understand who you are and how you can help.

That's exactly what this project was designed to achieve.

While the early results have been encouraging—with increased visibility, stronger engagement, more enquiry actions, and improved AI search presence—the biggest win is the foundation we've built for the future. More than a redesign, this project has created a website that's ready to support long-term growth and adapt to the next generation of digital discovery.
