Project Overview

The Client

Jake Swindal is a construction project executive turned endurance athlete and strength coach. After experiencing overtraining injuries himself, Jake saw a major gap in the fitness world—runners and cyclists were underutilising strength training. Swind Altraining was born from this insight, blending real-world experience, personal grit, and expert programming to help athletes train smarter and perform better.

The Challenge

Jake needed a brand identity and digital platform that matched the energy, grit, and purpose of his message. His offer—online coaching, training programmes, and a membership community—needed to feel credible to experienced endurance athletes while still being approachable to newcomers. The brand identity strikes a bold tone—confident, gritty, and dynamic. The logo fuses a custom “SA” monogram with sharp edges and a forward-slanted cut, symbolising forward motion and discipline. The red slash becomes a motif throughout the design system—used to divide content, highlight sections, and echo the performance-first mentality.

The palette of black, white, and red brings urgency and energy. It’s high contrast, high stakes—mirroring the inner grit of the athletes Jake trains. Typography is strong, condensed, and consistent across headings and CTAs, ensuring clarity and cohesion.

Photography direction plays a huge role—showcasing Jake in action, clients mid-rep, and close-ups of gear, dirt, and sweat. This isn’t gym-polished perfection—it’s real training, outdoors, hard-earned.

Functionality and User Experience

The site architecture is built for fast action. From the hero line—“Work Now, Perform Later”—visitors are hooked. Each scroll leads into clear, structured offers. The Services section features animated panels with key benefits, pricing, and links to start. A testimonial block adds credibility, while the blog and YouTube previews show this isn’t just a service—it’s a movement.

Every section is responsive, fast-loading, and easy to navigate. The entire design was tested across mobile, tablet, and desktop to ensure high performance.

The Mighty Networks setup ensures community members have a seamless login experience. From there, Jake can post content, host chats, and add value between check-ins—all without needing to juggle multiple tools.

Branding and Storytelling

Jake’s personal journey sits at the core of Swind Altraining—and the brand identity was crafted to reflect that. The custom “SA” monogram is sharp and forward-slanted, projecting momentum, strength, and discipline. The recurring red slash symbolises breakthrough—cutting through excuses, pushing forward, and embracing the challenge.

The colour palette—black, asphalt grey, deep red, and white—amplifies the intensity. It speaks directly to serious athletes who train outdoors and need their tools to work as hard as they do. The typography system reinforces this clarity and confidence: bold, athletic type for headlines, paired with clean, readable body fonts for ease across screens.

Jake’s About section isn't just a background story—it’s a manifesto. Positioned directly after services, it connects his lived experience to the coaching offer. Programme names like SWIND, ALT, and ENDURE aren’t just labels—they reflect values: commitment, adaptation, and long-term performance.
