Amalinda Safari Collection is a women-founded, family-owned safari company operating in Zimbabwe for over 30 years. With a portfolio of four distinct luxury properties, plus transfer and helicopter services, Amalinda offers immersive, conservation-driven safari experiences. Their nonprofit, Mother Africa Trust, supports community and environmental projects, aligning with their deep commitment to sustainability and cultural heritage.
The Challenge
Amalinda’s existing website did not fully reflect the beauty, scope, and ethos of the brand. They needed a visually stunning, user-friendly platform to highlight individual properties, promote activities and packages, and communicate their conservation work. The site had to feel immersive, offer an intuitive booking journey, and be optimised for search visibility to attract global safari travellers.

The Amalinda Safari Collection site was designed to feel like the start of a luxury safari experience from the very first click. The visual approach draws directly from the brand’s heritage — earthy safari tones, warm neutrals, and subtle gold accents create a sense of timeless elegance, while large-scale photography immerses visitors in the Zimbabwean landscapes, wildlife, and camp interiors. The custom illustration serves as a visual thread tying together different sections of the site, reflecting the brand’s artisanal, family-run roots and adding a bespoke element no competitor can replicate. Each of the five property pages was treated as a standalone luxury destination, with layouts inspired by high-end travel publications, combining striking imagery, carefully chosen typography, and balanced white space for a premium, editorial feel.
Functionality and User Experience
The website structure was carefully planned to accommodate both leisure browsing and direct booking pathways. A clean, intuitive navigation allows visitors to find properties, explore safari activities, view special packages, and learn about conservation efforts without friction. The interactive map was integrated not just as a visual feature, but as a functional tool to help guests understand geographic context and plan multi-property itineraries. Calls-to-action are positioned strategically at the end of each content block, inviting inquiries at natural decision points rather than interrupting the user’s flow. Mobile optimisation ensures that the immersive imagery, detailed itineraries, and map function as seamlessly on a smartphone as they do on a desktop, catering to the habits of global luxury travellers.

The site communicates that Amalinda is not just selling safaris, but offering life-changing journeys rooted in conservation, cultural appreciation, and family hospitality. The “Mother Africa Trust” section is positioned as a core part of the brand story, highlighting the company’s philanthropic impact alongside its hospitality offerings. Copy is written to evoke emotion and curiosity — speaking to the transformative nature of a safari rather than only listing amenities. By combining compelling text with evocative visuals, the site encourages visitors to imagine themselves in the experience, building both aspiration and trust.
Execution and Design Excellence
Technically, the project was delivered with meticulous attention to performance and SEO. On-site SEO work included keyword optimisation for “luxury Zimbabwe safari,” “Hwange safari lodges,” and “Matopos safari experiences,” as well as optimised image alt tags, geo-targeted metadata, and a strategic internal linking structure to improve crawlability.
To convey rich property information without overwhelming visitors, we implemented a streamlined tabbed navigation system for Location, Accommodation, and Activities. This design choice allows users to quickly switch between key content areas for each lodge while keeping the interface uncluttered and easy to follow. Each tab maintains consistent typography, spacing, and colour palette, ensuring a cohesive user experience across all properties. By keeping details neatly organised within these tabs, the site delivers an intuitive browsing flow that encourages exploration, deepens engagement, and supports the conversion journey from inspiration to booking.
