Founder's Thoughts – 2019 New Year Goalsetting
New Year, I am coming at you!
For me, the New Year is always the time to start fresh. Well, not completely fresh, but revised. For 2019, I am revising my business model. To support my journey, I joined the Fearless Business Accelerator with Robin Waite. Over the last few years, I’ve read several of Robin’s books on business strategy and online marketing, and felt that his programme— logical, systematic and with a proven success rate, really appeals to me.
We’ve hit the ground running from week one with assignments on goal setting, working out capacity, structuring working weeks, fearless mindset and so on. I’ve been working through tasks week by week and I am already seeing improvements — for example, I’ve reshaped my diary and restructured my working week based on the total capacity that I can handle, without feeling flat out. This means, that I have dedicated client days, as well as planning, content writing or even admin days. Therefore, nothing never gets left out and I don’t overbook myself. My bookings now fit nicely into the appointment slots that I pre-planned, which helps me be more productive and effective, thus having a positive effect on my bottom line!
I am only 4 weeks into the programme but this new found structure is making all the difference to a busy entrepreneur like myself, with tendencies to take too much on. I am looking forward to reshaping my strategy and reviewing my offering further in the coming months to make my business an even better fit with the lifestyle that I want to have.

Talks.
For 2019, I’ve decided to be ‘out there’ more. But what does this actually mean?
Well, I feel that last year, I’ve spent a lot of time ‘in the office, behind the screen’ and less time out in the community, engaging and collaborating. Therefore, this year, I am putting myself forward for all sorts of opportunities. I’ve updated my Press Page and I am inviting those opportunities into my life.
So far, I’ve been invited to do the following:
A Facebook Live in The Business Haven answering questions about building a brilliant brand .
An online Expert Webinar for Enterprise Nation on: “How to build an online brand that will make you more sales”. You can’t watch it online as it’s members only (if you join, you’ll find it in their member’s area).
An in-person talk for The Business Haven on: “How to turn your passion into profession, create a brilliant brand and become the person you’ve always aspired to be”.
An interview with Matt Ruddman on his podcast Mindset Explosion.
I got a press coverage as part of being named a finalist in GBEA Awards in Entrepreneurial Spirit category. I am talking about Visuable, brand transformations and the power of mindset. You can read it here.
I am amazed, how easy it has been for me to attract those opportunities. I am putting it down to having an interesting brand story, a strong personal brand — and an awesome press page!
MBA Update.
I started my second MBA course this month— Systems, Structures and Operations. What I’ve expected to be a rather boring module, turned out to be fascinating. I am learning all about information systems, operations management, online business models, emerging trends in e-commerce, competitive market forces and all the other cool business stuff that I find super useful, especially in my digital line of work.
I am also participating in a group project — running a global mobile phones venture. I am in the team of 5 and we’re competing against other groups from our MBA. So far, we’ve claimed a #1 global market leader position week-in, week-out. We’re using an online simulator that allows us to learn about creating a global business growth strategy — this project have opened my eyes onto so many areas of my business that I’ve not tapped into yet, and made me so much more aware in terms of planning, goal-setting and monitoring KPI’s.
