1. Typography

The typography style that you choose to use on your website will influence the perception your audience have about your business. For example, take a business like Betty’s Birds. They are fun and quirky and so the typography we’ve used on their website resembles their brand personality.


On the other hand, a brand such as Becky Barnes Style has an elegant, chic and high-end look to it, that’s why we’ve used an editorial style type in order to communicate this brand style and attract the right kind of clients. This last point is particularly important.

2. Colours

The colours you choose to use on your website play a big part in communicating your brand’s personality. There is a whole colour psychology to it and each colour has been found to communicate different emotions and feelings in branding.

For example – black and white colour palette bring to mind high-end, elegant brands such as Armani and Apple.

The use of green and earth tones would suggest links with the environment and being eco-friendly which is why those colours are usually used by brands such as: Ecover, Ecosia and Better Food.

Whereas, incorporating bright, vibrant colours within your site would evoke a playful and energetic vibe. Brands that come to mind in here are Innocent Smoothies, Tiger, and Scribbler.

3. Graphics Style

In terms of your website graphics it's all about complementing your brand style personality through a visual language. Here at Visuable, we like to keep our graphics to a minimum as we prefer to let pictures do the talking (more on that later).

When it comes to graphics, this year’s trend is to include hand-drawn elements in order to breath some natural life into your digital presence. This can be done by using illustrations or even hand-written typography styles. Here at Visuable, we have used hand-written script to emphasise our own brand personality. For our client over at Relax Me Happy we also incorporated this type of script in order to reflect the approachable and personal style of the brand.


Hand written elements are especially recommended if you are a personal brand as handwriting adds a personal touch to your business whilst communicating your personality in a visual way. Instead, if you are a brand seeking to add some boldness and liveliness to your digital presence, try incorporating some geometric shapes through graphics as this is something that will help to bring a sharper, more defined edge to your brand character.

4. Images
